PETER HELD

Peter graduated from the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music in 2011 with a degree in Music Education and a K-12 Illinois Teaching License. In his time at Wheaton College, he sensed a calling into the teaching profession, and has never looked back. Before starting at CLA, he spent three years as the youth pastor of his church, and it was there he knew his calling on his life to be in the education field. Peter has also had many unique jobs including: college post office worker, member of a "4am snow crew", lumberjack, musical instrument salesman, sales department manager, private music lesson instructor, and freelance French Horn performer. 

Peter currently the Dean of Academics, as well as the Music Director, at CLA. As the Dean, he is in charge of teacher observations, ACSI accreditation, curriculum oversight, and a member of the school board. As the Music Director he lead the beginning band, the middle school band, and the high school orchestra. Peter also oversees the private lesson program, the choir and string programs, and the general music program.
